Mediante un comunicado de prensa Ecopetrol la compañía más grande de Colombia y una de las principales compañías integradas de energía en el continente americano, anunció un nuevo avance en las exploraciones de hidrocarburos realizados en el municipio de Orito en el departamento de Putumayo.
La perforación y las pruebas realizadas en el pozo Alqamari-2 determinaron que hay presencia de crudo en la zona, luego de bajar a una profundidad de 2,8 kilómetros se encontró Gas y aceite de Arena, hidrocarburo liviano, lo que equivaldría a un caudal diario de 1,800 barriles de petróleo.
Este hallazgo supone un reto importante para la compañía y una ventaja competitiva pues han venido trabajando arduamente en esta zona y por fin se han visto los resultados de la exploración en ese área, de llegar a la etapa de desarrollo todos los recursos pasarían a reservas contribuyendo al desarrollo económico del país.
